If the on-site camping options sell out, here’s a list of off-site and RV campgrounds.  They are a little further away from the festival grounds, but still a reasonable alternative to expensive hotels.

Hotels

So camping’s not for you?  So you haven’t booked a hotel yet?  Do that right now since hotels book up fast!  Options may be limited but if you’re traveling with a small party, staying in a hotel may be the most convenient option.  Here’s a list of hotels that Coachella recommends that’s along the shuttle route.

Vacation House Perfect for Coachella

One of the best ways to experience Coachella is to stay in a house with a group of your friends.  Although you’d be further from the festival, you will have more space to relax with your Coachella crew.  There are many popular websites where you can reserve rooms, apartments, condos, or entire homes, many of which come with pools.  Popular places to stay are Palm Springs (30 minutes), La Quinta (5 minutes), and Palm Desert (20 minutes).

Airbnb

Airbnb is an up and coming and increasingly popular community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique lodging around the world.  You can reserve a room, condo, or entire house.  What’s great about Airbnb is that all transactions are made via credit card through Airbnb’s online payment processing platform.

VRBO

VRBO has been around since 1995 and provides an online directory for homeowners to advertise their vacation properties.  There are usually larger properties such as big vacation rentals listed on VRBO.  VRBO connects you directly with the property owners.  Payment is processed between owner and renter.

What Are You Waiting For?

Coachella is a ton of but it also requires a lot of planning to make it all happen.  If you haven’t looked for housing yet, get off your ass and do it now!  You’ll regret it when you’re stuck in a shitty motel an hour away from the Empire Polo Club and wishing you had planned a little better.
